Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen arrived today in the Russian Federation on an official visit which will last for several days. During the visit, he will meet senior Russian officials and hold consultations with them concerning issues of the Islamic world. On Wednesday, Dr. Al-Othaimeen will hold a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at the ministry's headquarters in Moscow to discuss a number of issues of mutual interest. In a statement to SPA, Dr. Othaimeen said that OIC is always seeking to strengthen ties of friendship with friendly countries, including Russia, which has observer status in OIC where the two sides consult periodically to discuss political, economic, social, humanitarian and others issues.
