The United Nations Security Council today condemned attacks on tankers in the Gulf of Oman as a serious threat to international peace and security. "Council members urge the parties concerned and all countries in the region to exercise maximum restraint and take measures to reduce escalation and end tension," Kuwait's ambassador to the United Nations Mansour al-Otaibi said in a statement after a Security Council meeting.
