The number of persons who embraced Islam in the Governorate of Khamis-misheit in the last four years amounted to 468. These converts, who included 73 women, were of different nationalities. A booklet issued by the Cooperative Office for Islamic call, Guidance and Awareness of the Foreign Communities in Khamis-misheit Province, reiterated the keenness of the office on taking care of the converts. Citing the activities of the Cooperative Office, the report said more than 60 lectures were organized in English and more than 550 lectures were organized in Urdu, Bengali ,Filipino and Millbrae, under the Office's supervision. Meanwhile, the Office's Director General Dr Abdullah bin Hadi Al-Qahtani said, while introducing the report, that the Office takes into consideration the menace of the destructive ideas and beliefs and the biased rumors as well as the incorrect practices. 'The office is keen on implanting the principles of proper belief', he added.
