Polish base in Iraq targeted by mortar fire

Two mortar rounds were fired at a Polish base in central Iraq, but they missed their target
and caused no injuries, a military spokesman said
Wednesday.
One round exploded outside the base in Karbala Tuesday
night, while the other failed to detonate and was being
defused by Iraqi police, Polish Maj. Krzysztof Plazuk said
by telephone from Iraq.
