Pakistan's National Assembly (Lower House of Parliament) has unanimously passed a resolution expressing grave concern over the on-going fighting around the shrine of Hazrat Ali in Najaf and called upon all sides to cease hostilities. The National Assembly asked all parties engaged in fighting to respect the sanctity of the shrine. Speaker Chaudhry Amir Hussain put the resolution before the House for voting that was immediately accepted by both the treasury and opposition benches. The resolution said: "This House calls upon all the parties in Iraq to respect the shrine of Hazrat Ali."
