Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Riyadh newspaper in its editorial commented on the United States of America and its movements in the region, saying that the United States has interests and relations in Gulf and Arab regions that can not be abandoned without maintaining them. The paper said that the deployment of the US aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln and a Middle East bomber force is meant to send a message to Iran after serious threats from it and its proxies to US forces on the ground, including in Iraq and at the sea. Okaz newspaper commented on the American-Iranian escalation by saying that it seems that Washington has reached a conviction to break the back of Iran, the first terrorist state in the world and deploy its military fleet to deter it, its militias and proxies in the region.
