The most powerful typhoon to hit China in seven years killed at least 63 people in the country's southeast, injured more than 1,800 and knocked down thousands of homes, officials and news reports said Friday. Another 15 people were missing after Typhoon Rananim roared ashore Thursday in Zhejiang province, just south of Shanghai, with winds of more than 160 kph (100 mph), the official Xinhua News Agency and other media reported.
