A seven-member Saudi Shoura (Consultative) Council led by its Chairman Dr Saleh bin Abdullah bin Humaid will arrive in Islamabad on Tuesday for a visit to Pakistan at the invitation of Senate (Upper House of Parliament) Chairman Mohammadmian Soomro. The visit will further strengthen the existing ties between two brotherly countries and help improve cooperation and coordination between the Saudi Shoura Council and Pakistan Upper House, a Senate statement said. It added that the visit would not only provide an opportunity for the parliamentarians of the two countries to share each other's experiences in the field of parliamentary cooperation but also pave the way for greater understanding, leading to consolidation of the bonds of the Islamic fraternity. During its visit, the Saudi delegation would meet President General Pervez Musharraf, Soomro, National Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Amir Hussain, Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri, Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Mushahid Hussain Syed, Religious Affairs Minister and other dignitaries and hold in-depth discussions to find out ways and means to further cement the bilateral relations. The statement said that during these meetings, various issues of national and international significance would be discussed. Dr Saleh bin Abdullah bin Humaid, who is a noted Islamic scholar, is likely to lead Juma (Friday) prayers at the Faisal Mosque on May 19.
