The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), with a generous support from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), represented by the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), started to implement large-scale maintenance projects, including 268 schools and health centers, in Syria, Jordan, Gaza Strip, Lebanon and the West Bank, in general and Al-Quds, or Eastern Jerusalem, in particular. In a statement issued by UNRWA, the Commissioner-General Pierre Krahenbuhl praised the support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, pointing out that many of the UNRWA's buildings need maintenance.
