Pakistan and the World Bank have signed a credit agreement amounting to $37.1 million for Pakistan's North West Frontier Province (NWFP) Community Infrastructure Project -II, according to an official statement. Pakistan's Economic Affairs Division Secretary Dr Waqar Masood Khan and World Bank's Country Director in Islamabad Abid Hasan signed the documents at the World Bank Mission office in Islamabad. NWFP's Local Government and Rural Development Department Secretary Wakeel Khan Afridi signed the project agreement. The objective of the project is to promote the well-being of the low income communities through the provision of support for investment in basic services and small scale productive infrastructure.
