The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Deputy Minister of Defense, Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, met yesterday with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo at the US State Department's headquarters in Washington. Pompeo welcomed the Deputy Defense Minister on the occasion of his current visit to the United States of America, pointing out his aspiration to work to strengthen Saudi-US relations. The two sides held a bilateral meeting during which they reviewed the historical relations between the two countries, as well as exchanged views on the latest developments at the regional and international arenas. They also discussed the efforts and initiatives towards crises in the region, including the need to address Iran's destabilizing practices in the region, the importance of implementing the Swedish agreement on Yemen, the role of the Kingdom in supporting the political process in Yemen and Saudi support for the UN efforts in this regard.
