Senior Saudi and Tunisian diplomats comment on the visit of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Tunisia

A number of senior Saudi and Tunisian diplomats made remarks to the Saudi Press Agency on the current state visit of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to Tunisia.
They include the Saudi Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Tunisia Mohammed bin Mahmoud Al-Ali; the Tunisian Ambassador to the Kingdom Lutfi bin Gaid and the Saudi Cultural Attache in Tunis Dr. Mohammed bin Mudhi Al-Toam.
Ambassador Al-Ali disclosed that the high-level official delegation accompanying the monarch is scheduled to sign a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding between the Kingdom and Tunisia in a number of fields.
He highlighted the high level of relations between the two countries in the political, economic and cultural fields.
He cited that Saudi investments in Tunisia amounted to $190 million creating nearly 6215 jobs. Meanwhile, the Saudi Development Fund finances developmental projects worth more than $500 million in Tunisia. The SDF also approved a loan worth $129 million to Tunis to finance a power plant project.
For his part, Tunisian Ambassador to the Kingdom recalled the official visit of the Tunisian President to the Kingdom in December 2015 and signing of three important agreements on military cooperation, civil defense and land transport as well as the visit of HRH the Saudi Crown Prince to Tunisia in November 2018 which laid the foundation stone for a solid future relation between the two countries.
The Cultural Attache of the Kingdom in Tunis told SPA that the relations were back dated to the era of late King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman when he received then President Al-Habib Bourgeba.
He cast light on the development of relations covering the cultural, diplomatic and economic fields.
