Speaker of the Shura Council Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh held talks here today with visiting Speaker of the National Assembly of the State of Kuwait Marzouq bin Ali Al-Ghanim. At the outset of the meeting, Al Al-Sheikh lauded the depth of ties binding the two countries' leaderships and peoples, underscoring the importance of exchange of visits in a way that serves the joint interests of the two countries in addition to enhancing joint parliamentary cooperation between the two chambers and countries. For his part, Al-Ghanim thanked Al Al-Sheikh for inviting him for this visit, praising the fraternal deep-rooted relations between the State of Kuwait and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He confirmed that the current visit would, no doubt, contribute to further enhance tightening parliamentary cooperation and meet the aspirations of the two leaderships of the two countries, citing that there is traditional cooperation between the two chambers at the regional and international platforms and identical view points on the regional and international issues of mutual concern. The meeting was attended by Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council Dr. Abdullah bin Salem Al-Metani, members of the Saudi-Kuwaiti parliamentary friendship committee, led by Abdulaziz bin Abdulkarim Al-Isa, and a number of Kuwaiti national assembly members. Al-Ghanim and his accompanying delegation have attended part of today's Shura Council ordinary meeting.
