Saudi ambassador to Yemen Mohammed bin Saeed Al Jaber, who is also Supervisor of the Saudi Program for Yemen's Development and Rehabilitation, met at the program's headquarters in Riyadh today with Yemen's Central Bank Governor Muhafez Meyad. During the meeting, issues concerning ways of providing support for Yemen's development were discussed. Al Jaber said the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has provided support worth $2.2 b for Yemen in 2018 in addition to another one billion U.S. dollar deposited earlier, citing that the Kingdom has provided bank credits worth more than $805 million to cover food purchases for the Yemeni people without discrimination. The Saudi deposit's impact on the Yemeni economy was reflected on the Yemeni currency exchange rates, helping to stabilize the Yemeni economy and stop the local currency's devaluation, he added.
