UN Human Rights Council adopted here today a resolution submitted by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), calling on all United Nations bodies to monitor the implementation of the recommendations in the reports of international commissions of inquiry on violations committed, during the protests in the occupied Palestinian territories, as well as the Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip in 2014, to investigate the effects of Israeli occupation on the civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights of the Palestinian people, throughout the occupied Palestinian territory, including Al-Quds (Jerusalem). The resolution welcomed the efforts and the information gathered by the international commissions on violations in support of future accountability efforts, stressing the need to ensure that all those responsible for violations of international humanitarian and human rights law are held accountable through appropriate national or international criminal justice mechanisms and to ensure effective remedies for all victims, and to take practical steps towards these goals to ensure justice for all victims and to contribute to the prevention of future violations.
