More than 200 military officers and men from Pakistan and China took part in the just-concluded joint anti-terrorism military drill that was held in the Chinese northwest border, an official statement said today. It was the first-ever military exercise between the two countries. China's People's Liberation Army and the armed forces of Pakistan practiced both indoor and outdoor procedures such as joint command headquarters and troops drills. The exercise helped strengthen cooperation between the two countries and armies, improving the capacity of jointly combating terrorism, the statement said. It added that the exercise also gave boost to bilateral cooperation in non-traditional security field and helped maintain security and stability in the region. Earlier, China had conducted naval exercises with Pakistan at the coast of Shanghai, China's commercial hub, last October.
