The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is continuing to promote the rights of persons with disabilities in all fields while striving to achieve the vision and directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince. This came during a speech delivered by Dr. Bandar bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, President of Saudi Human Rights Commission upon opening here today a symposium on "Rights of Persons with Disabilities" which was organized by the Commission in cooperation with the United Nations Office. For her part, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Nathalie Fustier, stressed that the United Nations appreciates the Kingdom's outstanding efforts in promoting the rights of persons with disabilities, citing the Kingdom's ratification of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the Optional Protocol in 2008.
