President of Saudi Human Rights Commission (SHRC) Dr. Bandar bin Mohammad Al-Aiban hailed here today the joining of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Optional Protocols to the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Optional Protocol on the Sale of Children, Child Prostitution and Child Pornography, sanctioned by the General Assembly of the United Nations Organization, and its joining also to the Optional Protocol on the Involvement of Children in Armed Conflict. In a press statement, Al-Aiban considered the Kingdom's joining to the two international protocols a further stride in endorsing so many human rights-related world and regional conventions, in the last few years, pointing out that the Kingdom's endorsing of these covenants is highly appreciated by the world community. In this regard, he talked about the Kingodm's issuance of a code to counter human trafficking which incriminates and punishes so many violations, stressing that human rights protection and maintaining is a top priority to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Crown Prince and the Second Deputy Premier. -- SPA
