Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Cabinet's Member Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir has headed the delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the Ministerial Meeting of the Member States of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS, and the Kingdom's delegation to the Ministerial Meeting of the Small Group on Syria. Addressing the Ministerial Meeting of the Member States of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS, Al-Jubeir said, "I am pleased to extend my thanks to the Secretary of State of the United States of America for inviting to hold this meeting, and congratulate you on the victory achieved against Daesh terrorist organization and accomplishing the Coalition's goals ". He said, ''The Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS was founded in 2014 comprising of 12 countries. My country was one of the founding countries and one of the first countries that has participated actively in military operations against the organization. Today, we are meeting and the number of states participating in the coalition reached 79 ". He affirmed the Kingdom's constant and consistent commitment to the objectives of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS to achieve cooperation and coordination among all member states to combat terrorism and extremism, saying "My country's government will continue its fight against terrorism and its sponsoring countries, and pledges to support all international and regional efforts to eliminate terrorist organizations and the activities of destabilizing states in the region". Minister Al-Jubeir added, "We believe that our war against terrorism must include combating its funding and rhetoric that justifies violence and terrorism. For this reason, my country has established a center to combat terrorism, extremism and its sources of funding. We also emphasize the importance of continuing this coalition so that we can all ensure an effective and lasting defeat of Daesh terrorist organization, and all terrorist organizations, and not to reappear again in all parts of the world." On the sidelines of the ministerial meeting, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs has met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Jacek Czaputowicz, the Foreign Minister of Sweden Margot Elisabeth Wallstrom, the Foreign Minister of France Jean-Yves Le Drian, the Foreign Minister of Germany Heiko Josef Maas, the Foreign Minister of Netherlands Stef Blok, the Foreign Minister of Denmark Anders Samuelsen, the Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin, the Foreign Minister of Finland Timo Soini, and the Foreign Minister of Iraq Mohammed Al-Hakim. During the meetings, they discussed issues of common interest, and ways of enhancing cooperation and developing bilateral relations for the common interests between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and those countries.
