Minister of Finance Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan participated in the working dinner of the G20 finance ministers on Thursday, November 29, 2018. The first meeting focused on the developments in the global economy and the risks surrounding the volatility of the financial markets and the growing trade differences, the lessons learned over the last ten years since the Group's first summit in November 2008, and the cooperation to meet the future challenges of achieving sustainable and comprehensive growth. . The second session discussed the financial track of the group's action to activate the group's role by building on what has been achieved, mechanisms to reach consensus on controversial financial and economic issues, and streamlining the G20 agenda. The meeting was opened by Minister of Finance Mohamed Al-Jadaan, who was the keynote speaker at the meeting. He thanked the Argentine Presidency for pushing forward the agenda and its efforts to reach consensus on the issues, stressing the importance of consensus among the members of the group, the need to make the group more efficient and focus on an effective agenda reflecting the role of the group in addressing pressing global issues, through a central agenda for each ministerial meeting with the minimum number of subjects through which practical results can be achieved on the ground, and interactive discussion at the level of agents to prepare the work schedule and prepare for meetings of ministers and governors, and establish clear terms of reference for each working group and reduce the number of meetings. Al-Jadaan referred to the Kingdom's aspiration to join the Troika group, its cooperation and support for Japan during the coming year, and also to support the Kingdom during its presidency of the Group in 2020.
