Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousuf bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen chaired the OIC delegation to the extraordinary Islamic Conference of Culture Ministers, which was held under the patronage of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain. The conference was held in Manama under the slogan "All For The Protection Of Human Heritage And The Fight Against Extremism. The conference celebrated Muharrq as the capital of Islamic culture in the presence of President of the Bahrain Culture and Antiquities Authority Sheikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, and the Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Twaijri. The participants discussed the most important challenges facing the Arab and Islamic cultural identity, calling for addressing them by conveying the humanitarian message to the Islamic world to the whole world, paying attention to thought and culture, and strengthening relations based on respect for human dignity as well as the values of social justice and the principles of moderation, moderation and tolerance. The Conference also adopted the initiative of Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Tuwaijri to adopt Al-Quds as the permanent capital of Islamic culture in the Islamic Culture Capitals Program.
