Border Guards have managed to thwart several attempts to smuggle a total of as many as six hundred kilograms of cannabis and arrested 44 people, including 16 Yemenis, 13 Ethiopians and 13 Saudis, during the last month of Safar 1440 AH, in addition to an Afghan and another Somali, after monitoring the crossings of the Southern borders of the Kingdom, situated in Jazan, Najran and Assir Regions. Spokesman of the border guards Col. Saher bin Mohammed al-Harbi said that the suspects and narcotics seized, were handed over to the competent authorities, stressing that border guards continue to carry out their duties with determination and resolute, to protect the country's borders and preserve its capabilities.
