Arab Ministers of Foreign Affairs held an extraordinary session right before the 150th session of the Arab League's Council at the Ministerial Level, which will be held later today, on the crisis facing the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), at the request of Jordan. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's delegation was headed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir. The session discussed the systematic campaign faced by the Agency to reduce or cancel its role, as well as ways to support UNRWA financially in the light of the recent US decision to stop US financial contributions to the Agency's annual budget. During the session, Commissioner General of the Agency Pierre Krahenbuhl, reviewed the conditions and needs of the Agency, and the repercussions of the financial crisis on the services provided for Palestinian refugees. The session was attended by the foreign ministers and heads of delegations of the Arab countries and the Secretary General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit.
