Ahmed Aboul Gheit appointed as Arab League' Secretary General

The Arab Foreign Ministers Council approved in its extraordinary session held here on Thursday evening the appointment of Ahmed Aboul-Gheit, Egypt's former foreign minister, to be Secretary General of the Arab League.
Aboul-Gheit, 73, will succeed the current Secretary-General Dr. Nabil Elaraby, who ends his term in June 30.
