A powerful earthquake struck the Pacific island nation of Vanuatu on Wednesday, the US Geological Survey said. The magnitude-6.7 quake struck north of Ambrym island at a depth of around 30 kilometers. There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties and the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center did not issue a warning, dpa reported.
