Indonesian President Joko Widodo officially opened the 2018 Asian 18th Games ceremony held today at Gelora Bung Kamo main stadium in Jakarta, Indonesia, in the participation of about 1,000 female and male athletics, and 5,000 official guests and managers, including leaders and heads of Asian countries or their representatives in addition to a number of sports leaders, heads of Asian sports federations and senior guests. Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, head of the Saudi delegation, and Prince Fahd bin Juluwe, manager of the Saudi delegation, were present among the elite attendance. Following hoisting the Indonesian national flag, the opening ceremony observed a moment of silence as a gesture of respect for victims of the Lombok earthquake which claimed scores of deaths and injuries. More than 35 members represented the Saudi delegation at the opening parade.
