Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Okaz newspaper in its editorial entitled "Continuing efforts to serve pilgrims'' wrote that with the beginning of the influx of pilgrims to the Holy Land in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia every year, Muslims in all countries of the world feel that the Kingdom is the cradle of Islam, and their Qiblah to which they direct their faces in worship. The paper noted that the Kingdom has the right to be proud of its roles in the Islamic world, as it provides all best services for pilgrims to facilitate performance of Hajj rituals from their arrival in the Kingdom and until departure for their countries. Al-Youm newspaper in its editorial entitled ''Iran, and the threat of closure of Hormuz strait" said that since mullahs seized power in Tehran in 1979, they have launched the threat after the threat of closing the Strait of Hormuz, pointing to statements recently made by Iranian President Hassan Rowhani, and his threat to prevent the export of oil from the region if Iran is prevented from exporting its oil under siege mechanisms announced by US President Donald Trump, pointing out that Iran knows first that closing the strait will inevitably spark an international war, especially as US fleets patrol the region.
