Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Negotiations of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Abdulaziz Hamad Al-Awaisheq met at the headquarters of the GCC in Riyadh today with Richard Wildash, the British Deputy Chief of Mission in Saudi Arabia. The meeting discussed the progress made in the implementation of the strategic partnership between the GCC and Britain, which was agreed upon at the British Gulf Summit in December 2016. A number of activities were also agreed on in the areas of trade, investment, cybersecurity and protection of the marine environment. Dr. Al-Awaisheq explained that the strategic partnership between the GCC and the United Kingdom aims to strengthen relations in various fields between the two sides, based on the common denominators and interests they share. For his part, the British senior diplomat expressed his pride in the cooperation between the GCC and the United Kingdom, looking forward to further cooperation between the two sides in the years ahead.
