Foreign Minister Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir headed today the delegation of Saudi Arabia at the Extraordinary Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Istanbul. In a speech, Al-Jubeir said: "I am pleased to convey to you the greetings of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Defense, and the position of the Government and people of Saudi Arabia, which reaffirms that the issue of Al-Quds goes beyond politics and cannot be compromised by any means. " The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned the targeting of Palestinian civilians by the Israeli occupation forces, stressing the need for the international community to shoulder its responsibilities to stop the violence and protect Palestinian people. I would like to express my sincere condolences to the martyrs who were killed by Israeli occupation forces. He added that "no one should think that our preoccupation with side issues, threats, and immediate crises has distracted us from continuing our steadfast position on the cause of Palestine and Al-Quds as our primary cause until the Palestinian people gain their full rights and establish their independent state with Al-Quds as its capital." "We believe that this crisis, in particular, imposes on all Member States the position unity, strengthening of the fight against terrorism and extremism, the rejection of sectarianism, and the mobilization and intensification of efforts to resist the Judaization of Al-Quds.", he added. Saudi Arabia believes that a peaceful solution is the only way to restore the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. In this regard, it has already submitted a peace initiative adopted by the Arab Summit in Beirut in 2002. It also received the approval of the OIC at the Extraordinary Summit held in Makkah In 2005, where the Arab Peace Initiative established a roadmap for the final resolution of all issues of conflict and within the framework of the two-state solution, leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with Jerusalem Al-Quds as its capital. Al-Jubeir also noted the Arab Summit 29 and naming it as "Al-Quds Summit" by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as a confirmation of the importance of the Palestinian cause, Al-Quds and its people. He noted the outcomes of the 45th Meeting of Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), which was held recently in Dhaka, as well as the emergency meeting of Arab foreign ministers held yesterday in Cairo. At the end of his speech, the Foreign Minister said: My Government calls on the American administration to reverse its decision, join the international community, which likes justice and peace and take positive initiatives to advance the peace process in accordance with the principle of the two-state solution.
