Basis for Resolving Palestinian-Israeli Conflict Depends on International References, Arab Peace Initiative Leading to Establishment of Palestinian State -Al-Jubeir Stresses
Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir described Arab ministerial meeting held here today on Al-Quds (Jerusalem) as it was hosted by the Kingdom of Jordan, as constructive as well as fruitful. "We have been able to come up with important proposals regarding joint action to counter the American decision, to support the Palestinian position and the Arab and Islamic position on Al-Quds (Jerusalem)," he pointed out, at a joint press conference held with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi. On the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, he stressed that the basis for the solution depends on the international references, the Arab peace initiative and ends with the establishment of a Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with Al-Quds (East Jerusalem) as its capital, asserting that the position of Saudi Arabia is firm and will never change. The Foreign Minister emphasized the strong cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Jordan regarding the Syrian crisis, addressing the Iranian interference in the affairs of the region and in Yemen. In addition to the attempt to come up with a solution to the crisis, in Libya, and supporting the Palestinian brothers and moreover to take action against the decision to recognize Al-Quds as the capital of Israel, he concluded. For his part, the Jordanian Chief Diplomat Safadi reaffirmed that the meeting with Al-Jubeir underscores the strength of the fraternal relationship between the two kingdoms, indicating that the step falls in line with the instructions of the two monarchs to continue with ongoing coordination and work together, in dealing with regional issues, proceeding from our sole and firm position, to protect Pan-Arab rights.
