Yemeni National Army has regained control of the strategic Khaboub Mountains, heading to the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait, south-west of Taiz province, following violent battles against the Iranian-backed Houthi militia. A military source said in a statement carried by the website of the Yemeni Ministry of Defense that the army forces controlled the mountains of "Hijijah" near the Straits of Bab Al-Mandeb after violent battles lasted for hours. For his part, Spokesman for the West Coast Front Ahmed Atef Subaihi said that the army is close to secure the international corridor in Bab-el-Mandeb Strait, which is about 35 kilometers away from the mountains of Khaboub.
