The Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) organized a lecture entitled "Jeddah, One Hundred Years Ago". The lecture was delivered by Professor Louis Blanc at UNESCO headquarters in Paris yesterday. During the lecture, Prof. Blanc displayed 170 photos taken by French photographers and explorers of the old city of Jeddah with an explanation of each of these photos. On the occasion, the Kingdom's Permanent Representative to UNESCO Dr. Ibrahim bin Yousef Al-Balawi delivered a speech in which he spoke about the historical importance of the city of Jeddah and the attention and care being paid by the Kingdom to its monuments and heritage.
