The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organizations (UNESCO) has announced "Al-Qatt Al-Asiri" (traditional interior wall decoration in Asir Region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) on the representative list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. This came within the 12th meeting of the 12th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage takes place in Jeju Island, Republic of Korea, from Monday 4 to Saturday 9 December 2017 in presence of Saudi permanent representative to the UNESCO Dr. Ibrahim Al-Balawi and Director of the Saudi Heritage Preservation Society Abdurrahman Al-Aidan. On this occasion, Princess Adelah bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Heritage Preservation Society, congratulated the homeland on this cultural and heritage important event.
