The President of the Saudi Geological Survey Hussein bin Mana Al-Otaibi confirmed the discovery of human remains, going back to about 85,000 years ago, located east of the town Taima, north-west of Saudi Arabia, through a specialized geological team, a breakthrough he described as embodying the Kingdom's rich scientific, historical and cultural heritage. In a statement, he said that the discovery will attract the attention of many geologists and archaeologist to carry out in-depth various scientific studies in the field of geology in the Kingdom, especially as it is the first direct sample of the remnants of ancient humans in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
