His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Defense, met here today with the United States of America's Secretary of Defense James Mattis. Upon arrival at Pentagon, the national anthems of the two countries were played. The guard of honor was reviewed. Then, HRH the Crown Prince and the US Secretary of Defense held a meeting where they reviewed the Saudi-US relations and aspects of existing strategic cooperation between the two countries and opportunities of developing them, particularly in the fields of defense and military, in order to consolidate defense capabilities and deepen bilateral partnership in accordance with the Kingdom Vision 2030. They also reviewed the latest developments in the Middle East and world in addition to the two countries' efforts in confronting terrorism and combatting extremism. They also discussed a number of issues of common interest and mechanisms of joint coordination towards enhancing security and stability in the region. The meeting was attended by Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Saudi ambassador to the United States of America, HRH the Crown Prince's accompanying delegation and the US senior officials at Pentagon.
