His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Defense, held yesterday at the headquarters of the United States Congress bilateral and expanded meetings with the leaders and members of the US Senate and House of Representatives in various committees. HRH the Crown Prince met with Speaker of the US House of Representatives Paul Ryan; US Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and US Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer. HRH the Crown Prince also met with US House of Representatives Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, the US Senate Majority Deputy Leader, heads of the foreign relations and home security committees of the US Senate, the heads of the foreign affairs, home security and intelligence committees of the US House of Representatives and senior Democratic officials of the foreign affairs committee of the US Senate and Intelligence Committee of the US House of Representatives. The leaders of the US Congress of the two parties affirmed support of the historical relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America. During the meetings, HRH the Crown Prince discussed a number of important issues with regard to the latest developments in the region, including cooperation efforts in combatting terrorism and addressing Iran-backed Houthi militias, which threaten the regional stability. The meetings also dealt with the aspects of cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the economic and developmental areas in accordance with the Kingdom Vision 2030.
