Within the framework of the official visit of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince, Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Defense, to the United States of America, on the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, HRH the Crown Prince met President of the United States of America Donald Trump at the White House in Washington yesterday. At the beginning of the meeting, His Royal Highness conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the president who sent his greetings to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. President Donald Trump and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince reaffirmed their deep commitment to the historic ties of friendship and strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America. They reviewed and appreciated the progress made in strengthening the Saudi-US strategic partnership since the holding of the historic Riyadh summits in the month of Shaaban 1438H (May 2017) and the signing of the joint strategic vision statement for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the President of the United States. The president thanked His Royal Highness the Crown Prince for the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to bring peace, security and stability in the region. The president reiterated the firm and historic commitment of the United States towards the security and stability of Saudi Arabia. His Royal Highness the Crown Prince also thanked the US President for the leadership of the United States of America in efforts to confront the destructive influence of Iran across the Middle East and to defeat the Daesh. The President Trump and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince discussed joint efforts to conclude additional trade deals between the two friendly countries that will contribute to creating more jobs in them and the success of the economic reform program of Saudi Arabia under the vision of 2030. They also discussed developments in the region and regional security and the need to hold the Iranian regime and its Revolutionary Guard Corps responsible for destabilizing security and stability in the region. On the Yemeni issue, the US President and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince discussed the growing threat of the Huthis to the region with the help of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps and stressed the commitment of the two friendly countries to confront this threat. The two sides discussed the humanitarian situation and the additional steps in this area, and agreed that in the end, the political solution to the crisis is necessary to meet the needs of the Yemeni people based on Security Council resolution 2216 and the Gulf Initiative and its executive mechanism and the outcomes of the comprehensive Yemeni national dialogue. The US President and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince reaffirmed the US-Saudi partnership in the face of extremism and terrorism.
