The Arab League condemned the attacks made by Syrian forces on the eastern Ghouta, stressing that the critical humanitarian situation there requires immediate cessation of the military campaign and entry of humanitarian aid into the city. In a statement, Secretary General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit called upon countries agreeing on de-escalation to help reducing the escalation, securing lasting cease-fire and allowing urgent entry of humanitarian aid, pointing out that there are confirmed reports on the use of chemical weapons in Eastern Ghouta and Idlib.
