The UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Syria condemned the Syrian regime's violent escalation in Idlib and Eastern Ghouta. In a statement issued today, Paulo Pinheiro, Chairperson of the commission, said that the attacks against civilians are ferociously raised during the recent two days which resulted in many civilian casualties and attacking, at least, three hospitals. "The UN Commission calls on the Syrian regime to abide by the essential principles of the international humanitarian law and to take all preventive measures protecting civilians," the statement added. Pinheiro affirmed that escalation in Idlib since the beginning of this year resulted in more than 250,000 civilians who are forced to displace. He added that the commission is investigating reports of alleged chlorine bomb attacks on civilians in two Syrian towns.
