The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has again confirmed the need to work on a full and comprehensive cease-fire in Syria and to allow humanitarian assistance to reach all those in need in all locations and across borders. This came in a speech delivered by the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations, Ambassador Abdallah Y. Al-Mouallimi, during a session of the General Assembly of the United Nations on the human rights situation in Syria. Al-Mouallimi expressed thanks to Paulo Sergio Pinheiro, Chairman of the International Commission of Inquiry on Syria for the comprehensive presentation he made before the UN General Assembly and the Commission's efforts in the fact-finding and access to the findings and conclusions made by the commission. He added "Saudi Arabia also supports the findings of the Pinheiro's commission on Syria that asserted there is no solution but a peaceful solution.. The peaceful solution has been forged by the international will on the need to work to achieve a political transition process whereby a government with wide executive powers would be formed," Ambassador Al-Mouallimi also stressed that this work must be done immediately in order to lead to a transition stage towards a new rule and towards a new future for the Syrian people. He also called on the Syrian regime of Bashar Al-Assad to be aware of the realities of things because its ridiculous accusations against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and other countries won't be helpful to divert attention from the core of the Syrian problem and its essence.
