The Human Rights Council held here today a special session on deterioration of the human rights situation in Aleppo. During the meeting, Prince Zaid Raad Al-Hussein, United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, called to lift a siege imposed on the city of Aleppo and stop the shelling of the eastern Aleppo. He denounced violations as well as aggressive and barbaric attacks against the civilians, pointing out that the Security Council and the UN General Assembly are responsible of stopping the war in Syria. For his part, Paulo Pinheiro, Head of the Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Syria, called to take urgent procedures ending the war and crimes in Syria.
