The Council of Arab Ministers of Communication and Information Technology held its 21st session here headed by Egypt in participation of the concerned ministers of the Arab member's countries or their representatives. The Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Authority Dr. Abdulaziz bin Salem Al-Ruwais headed the delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the meeting. In his inaugural speech, Director General of the General Authority for Regulating the Telecommunications Sector in UAE Hamad Obaid Al-Mansoori, handed over the presidency of the 21st session of the Council to Egypt's representative, wishing the Council success in the next session. Al-Mansoori added that the ICT sector is the most powerful engine in the Arab world, which has contributed to the development of several regional institutions, promising a great future for this sector, disclosing that a proposal to establish an Arab Telecommunication Union to take advantage from the technical leap in the region will be put on the table.
