Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology Engineer. Abdullah bin Amer Al-Sawaha participated today in the activities of 2017 Session of International Telecommunication Union Council (ITU) in the presence of the Saudi Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Ruwais and Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the United Nations in Geneva, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al-Wasel. On the occasion, Minister Al-Sawaha expressed his happiness for attending and participating in the 2017 Session of the ITU Council, which marks the 53rd anniversary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's participation in it, stressing the Kingdom's continued commitment to supporting the Union in order to ensure that it carries out the tasks that serve the ICT sector at the international level. He indicated to the Kingdom's launch of the National Transformation 2020 Program, citing it as one of the programs to achieve the Kingdom's Vision 2030, pointing out that the ICT sector is one of the most important pillars of this program which calls for focusing on the development of digital infrastructure based on three main axes: wideband, capabilities, contents, and digital security.
