Emanating from its policy of eliminating all weapons of mass destruction, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reiterated the importance of implementing the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) under strict and effective international control. The Saudi Ambassador to the Kingdom of The Netherlands, Abdulaziz Abdullah Abohaimed, who is also his country's Permanent Representative to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, said in a speech during the 22nd session of the Conference of the States Parties to the Convention on the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons that the Kingdom's commitment to CWC and its interest in its implementation at the national and international levels comes as an extension of its policy to contribute effectively to the efforts to ban all weapons of mass destruction and to prevent their proliferation, leading to make the Middle East free of these deadly weapons. --More 20:52 LOCAL TIME 17:52 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/1693093
