The Standing Committee for Arab Media started its regular session today at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League in Cairo under the Committee's Chairman Dr. Abdel Mohsen Bin Farouq Elias with participation of organizations and associations of Arab Information Ministers Council. The delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the meeting was headed by General Supervisor of Foreign Media at Ministry of Culture and Information Dr. Khalid Al-Ghamdi. Dr. Elias said in his opening speech that today's meeting comes within the framework of joint Arab action through the discussion of 12 items on outlining media priorities and aspects to upgrade the work for achieving the aspirations of our peoples. He added that the role of the Arab media in tackling the phenomenon of terrorism is important in confronting terrorism's media in all its forms, stressing the importance of accelerating media steps of Member States, organizations and federations to implement the sustainable development agenda 2030 adopted two years ago by United Nations Member States.
