Dr. Majed bin Abdullah Al-Qassabi, Minister of Commerce and Investment, affirmed that challenges facing the Islamic nation require enhancing the role of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC). Dr. Al-Qassabi led the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's delegation to the 33rd COMCEC session currently ongoing in Istanbul. In his speech, the minister disclosed that one of the most objectives of the COMCEC is to address the economic challenges facing the Islamic nation, contributing to the development efforts in the member states, developing and disseminating knowledge, exchanging experiences and best practices, building common understanding and bringing closer the policies adopted by the member states. "The Kingdom has started to implement the Vision 2030 which is based on three pillars, including the Arab and Islamic depth, investment power and strategic geographical location, seeking to enhance the regional and international integration and foster closer relations with the GCC, Arab, Islamic and friendly countries. This is important of planning for the future and ensuring the welfare of coming generations," Al-Qassabi said.
