The Kingdom affirmed that it would vote in favor of the decision of the permanent sovereignty of the Palestinian people in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem, and to the Arab population in the occupied Syrian Golan over their natural resources, calling on the Member States of the United Nations to comply with humanitarian values and principles and to vote in favor of the resolution that supports the return of the Palestinian people to their stolen land and ending their long suffering which caused humanitarian disasters which are clear for all. This was stated in the Kingdom's speech at the United Nations to explain the vote on the resolution of the permanent sovereignty of the Palestinian people in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and of the Arab population in the occupied Syrian Golan over their natural resources, as part of the work of the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly, which was delivered by the member of the Permanent Delegation of the Kingdom to the United Nations, Mr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Ghunaim. Al-Ghunaim said that "in reference to the resolution entitled Permanent sovereignty of the Palestinian people in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and of the Arab population in the occupied Syrian Golan over their natural resources, which called for the affirmation of the permanent sovereignty of peoples under foreign occupation over their natural resources, and noting the Israeli exploitation of natural resources in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and other Arab territories occupied by Israel since 1967 as well as the total destruction by Israel of the agricultural land and orchards in the occupied Palestinian territory, and the urgent need to put an end to the Israeli occupation which began in 1967 and reaching a just, lasting and comprehensive peace settlement on all tracks and stressing the need for Israel to abide by the Roadmap, which calls for a freeze of settlement activities, including "natural growth" of the settlements and the removal of all settlement outposts established since March 2001, I call on Member States to comply with humanitarian values and principles and to vote in favor of a resolution that supports the return of the Palestinian people to their stolen land and ending their suffering that has caused humanitarian disasters clear for all.
