Eng. Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources, held a meeting today with the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ali Shir Sultanov in Tashkent. At the beginning of the meeting, Al-Falih stressed that the two countries have very long-standing brotherly relations and that the Kingdom's government under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Crown Prince are keen to strengthen these relations and raise the level of joint trade cooperation in various fields, including one of the most important fields, energy. He explained that the Kingdom has leading companies such as Saudi Aramco, SABIC, Maaden, and Aquapower, and is ready to discuss suitable investment opportunities in Uzbekistan. The minister expressed the Kingdom's desire to raise the level of trade exchange, import and export to the highest levels, expressing its readiness to discuss aspects of development cooperation in the Republic of Uzbekistan and opportunities for financing joint projects. On the other hand, the Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources presented an overview of the joint efforts of the 24 OPEC member countries and non-member countries by announcing the historic agreement on reducing production and explaining the important contributions of these countries to the world economy, trade and investments in trustworthy supplies in the future which will benefit producers and consumers alike, noting the meeting of these countries on 30 November in Vienna, including neighboring countries such as Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan. He also mentioned the importance of including more producing countries to achieve more success in rebalancing the international oil market. The Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan thanked Al-Falih for his visit and expressed the keenness of the Government of Uzbekistan to promote bilateral economic relations to the desired level, stressing the desire of the Government of Uzbekistan to participate in the next Vienna meeting of producers as an observer.
