The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen has received here Minister of Shipping Shahjahan Khan and State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam of Bangladesh. During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on various important issues including the situation of forcibly displaced Rohingya population who took shelter in Bangladesh and to seek OIC support for Bangladesh in its re-election bid to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Council. Dr. Al-Othaimeen commended Bangladesh for its humane action hosting a large number of Rohingya refugees and assured OIC's support for Bangladesh in all its endeavors aimed at alleviating the sufferings of the displaced ethnic minority.
