Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Duchy of Luxemburg and the Head of the Kingdom's Mission to the European Union Abdulrahman Sulaiman Al-Ahmad welcomed the visit of the delegation of the relations with the Arabian Peninsula and the delegation of the Human Rights Sub-Committee of the European Parliament to the city of Riyadh and meeting a number of officials from 28 to 30 October 2017. Ambassador Al-Ahmad said in a press statement that the visit comes through coordination between the Shura Council and the European Parliament, and in coordination with the Embassy of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in Brussels, in the framework of supporting and strengthening the parliamentary friendship relations between the Council and the European Parliament. Al-Ahmad stressed that parliamentary diplomacy has a key role in developing the kingdom's relations with regional and international countries and organizations and to clarify the kingdom's policies and its role in serving the issues of the Arab and Islamic nations and international peace and security led by Saudi leadership. He noted the appreciation of the European Union, its institutions and its members for the kingdom's growing role both at the regional and international level, its credibility and its keenness to support international peace and security, its distinguished initiatives at the political and economic levels and its active membership in many international and regional organizations and its tangible humanitarian and relief efforts. He added that the visit comes after several visits between the two sides, the most recent of which was the visit of members of the Friendship Committee with the European and Belgian Parliament of the Shura Council to Brussels on 9-11 October 2017.
